FOOD & DRINK / AN EVERYDAY PLEASURE

Pressing matters.

Fluted steel, a generous litre and time for another cup.

There’s a touch of Issey Miyake to the pleated steel. Four years in, we’re still happy to have ours out on the kitchen counter. Its one-litre capacity means a generous first cup, then a second or third without starting again, while the double-walled steel helps keep the coffee warm as you take your time. Just right for a slow morning with the paper, or breakfast with someone you’re in no hurry to leave.

Both the filter and the fluted steel still look great and work perfectly. At £130 it’s an indulgence, but one we get to enjoy every day. Use coarsely ground coffee and hand-wash the pot and filter afterwards. If you’re choosing a present for someone who already takes their morning coffee seriously, this is a lovely thing to add to the ritual.
