When you email
We receive your email address, message and any details you choose to send. We use them to respond to your enquiry, correction or partnership request. We don't add enquiries to a mailing list.
Your saved stories
When you select Save, this website stores the story's identifier in your browser's local storage. That list stays in that browser and doesn't sync to another device. Select Save again to remove a story, or clear this site's browser data to remove the list.
Session storage remembers the listing and scroll position when you open a story, so Back to the edit can return you to your place.
Search, hosting and links
Search terms appear in the page URL and are matched against the site's own article index. The URL may remain in your browser history.
This website runs on ChatGPT Sites. The hosting service handles requests needed to display and protect the site. We use Google Analytics only if you accept analytics cookies. Until then, its tag is blocked. Advertising features are disabled. Analytics helps us understand page visits, engagement and shopping-link clicks; it is not a record of everything you read. Google may process technical information, including IP addresses, to deliver the service. We do not send your email address, saved-story list or search terms as analytics events. Our tag removes query strings and fragments from the page address it supplies to Google. You can choose Reject analytics or change your choice using Cookie settings in the footer. Your choice is stored in this browser for six months. With consent, Google Analytics uses cookies such as _ga to distinguish browsers; our configuration limits their lifetime to six months. Google handles analytics data on its infrastructure, which may include processing outside the UK. See how Google uses information from partner sites.
Retailer links and sharing options take you to other services, which have their own privacy information. A shopping link may earn us a commission; our editorial information explains this. No newsletter sign-up is active.
Your questions and choices
You can contact us about information you've sent, including requests to access it, correct it or delete it where applicable. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office.
