We’ve picked eight for lifting, running and heading out afterwards. A little colour above the shoe is very welcome.

Our takeWe like how these look, and at £5 a pair they’re an affordable way to keep the gym drawer stocked. They’ve worked well for us, though regular wear and washing take their toll: we haven’t found them the longest-lasting pair.
Good to knowThe thick sole needs room inside your shoes. Padding shouldn’t leave your toes cramped.
